The weather has not been our friend today! Due to this, the county has had to postpone our Open House scheduled for this afternoon. Please see the image for our new Open House plan. It will be a floating schedule, but everything will go much smoother if these instructions are followed. Thank you for your understanding and help as we continue to plan an Open House that best serves our students and families!

We have all been working hard to prepare for Open House and are excited to see you all soon! Thank you as well to our wonderful PTO for the delicious breakfast to kick off our first day back yesterday!

ATTENTION: Bus Ridership Information Please read all of the following information regarding bus ridership for 24-25 school year before filling out the Google Form linked at the bottom of this post. This form is only intended for 2024 - 2025 Chestnut Grove Middle School students. If your student regularly rode the bus last year as a 5th grader at a feeder elementary school (Pinnacle, Mount Olive, King, Poplar Springs) or as a 6th or 7th grader at Chestnut Grove, you DO NOT need to fill out this form If you are unsure of your student's bus ridership status last year, or are new to the district, you should fill out the form. If you have multiple pickup/dropoff locations, please fill out this form for each of those locations (Ex: Morning pickup is at one address and afternoon dropoff is at another address). This form will be accessible until NOON on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Information regarding bus assignments and approximate pick-up/drop-off times for students already in the system and those who fill out this form will be posted at open house on August 8th and August 12th. We celebrated the achievements and hard work of our 6th and 7th graders yesterday at our Awards Day!

Students earned the opportunity to visit Arigatos or Dave & Busters for testing out of iReady. This was just one part of our iReady incentive program “The Grove” which built students interest in successfully completing lessons in reading and math. Students also had the opportunity to earn candy, spray paint canvases, make homemade milkshakes, and much more! Way to go Trojans. You made this program successful!

We have had some fun events for our students to close out this school year! They had a blast at our field day last week! Thank you to all the teachers who put this event together for our students.

The transition from elementary school to middle school can be difficult. Camp Middle School is a great opportunity for you. Insight Human Services is making it possible to provide a program that will ease this transition. The dates for Camp Middle School are July 24 and 25th and the morning session is from 8:00am until 11:30 am. The afternoon session is from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Rising 6th graders attend only one session for the two days.
